In case you're wondering what happened to me. I'm still alive! Haha I have too many blogs to update lately. Shoujiki Shindoi and my sports blog ∞ arena. For somehow who doesn't know much about sports, maintaining a sports blog that will be assessed is quite tiring. And not forgetting the weekly sports quiz.. Thank God I usually open my eyes when I go shopping. At least I can recognize some football players, their endorsements and their jerseys. And I've been following F1 since the season begin. Cricket, rugby? Give me a break!
So if you any sports tips, let me know ya!

I just want to sleep
Maybe I should really consider changing this blog's name to The Rene's Random Rant of the Day.
Today's rant is about being the youngest in the family. Being the youngest means that you are/ in charge of:
1. Technician of the house. Something is wrong with the TV, PC, Karaoke, Astro, Wii, telephone... RENE!!!
2. Cockroach and bugs terminator. Hasta la vista, Baby.
3. Youngest and still a student. If the maid is not around, I'm in charge of cleaning.
4. Take the blame for everything. Moms have a skillful way of turning the blame on you.
5. They ask you to cook. You cooked and they'll be like "What's that? I don't dare to eat."
6. If the family is eating out, the youngest one is in charge of brainstorming where would or what food would be good for dinner. They'll be like "up to you" and you suggest something they don't like, they'll rebut you like a one sided debate.
7. Someone coming back late? My job to wait for them to come back before going to bed.
8. Say something you think is smart but sounds stupid to those older than you.

Love/Hate you
Sigmund Freud is.. I don't know? He 'hunts' us almost every semester whether its a psychology, communication or writing subject. His psychoanalysis theory is very interesting. It makes me want to find out what am I repressing unconsciously. Maybe that's the I have this OCD of washing my feet every 15 minutes or so. Why am I always dreaming about the same thing? Why am I dreaming of this? Why do I like Japanese food and not Mexican food? Why I don't like to study? Why do I rant so much? Why am I such a 2-faced person? Why do I have the habit of sticking out my tongue or sometimes bite my lips when I'm concentrating on something? Why Freud why?
But I won't be able to find out by myself because it lies deep in the unconscious. That's the hate part.
My random rant of the day.

The big Dee
Last Friday, my course coordinator send the entire faculty an e-mail regarding a new elective subject will be available next semester. It's a law subject. (Malaysian and Singaporean Constitutional Systems)
At one point of my life, I thought of studying law. When I saw that, I was like ehh... it might be an interesting subject. But!! it's 100% exam based which is so not my thing.because I don;t like to study
Currently, I've choosen Screen theories as my elective next semester. It's also quite a heavy subject with a friendly but yet scary lecturer. "Don't ever plagiarize, you have no idea how many books I've read" The moment he said that, my friend and I had goosebumps. My friend thinks that the lecturer reads 10 books a day. And I'm quite convinced by that.
Ahh.. noir films or law? mini mini maini mo

Question?
Last night, SOMEONE said that I'm a lazy bum hmph! But it's true la haha I admit that. The lazy side of me is my biggest rival ever. IIsh.
Anyway, this morning while I was brushing my teeth, I notice some water droplets on my hand and suddenly thought about this. What color is water? Is it colorless? If its colorless, why is it visible to the eye? Air is colorless as well but why we can't see it? Because it's less dense and lighter? But it's more abundant right? Hmmm.. the lazy side of me decided not to go and Google it. haha
On a different note.. quiz time! haha

Guess how was this photo taken! no prizes for that hehe

Best gift ever??
Very very bad idea to try on the winter jacket during noon. Dizzy..
Anyway! Happy belated Christmas! Christmas this year was ok la. I don't remember since when I've stopped looking forward to Xmas. On the night of Xmas eve, while waiting for my sister to come back from church, I didn't even feel that Xmas is just in a couple of hours. The most Xmas-ey thing I did was saying good night to Santa Claus on an Xmas card. No idea why I did that haha. And I've also watched an Xmas special TV program. Not so much of an Xmas person I guess?
Despite being not so Xmas-ey, I still receive a couple of wishes, cards and gifts. Lazy to list names out but you know who you are. Thanks a lot! heeeee Really awesome gifts this year <3
And guess what is the 'best' thing that happened during Xmas? My laptop hard disc crashed. I was just about to back it up and it decided to give up on me. I was really angry at myself for not backing it up any sooner. Now I need to redo my video and finish it before New Year. Busy week ahead.
I've been ranting so much these days. Something more cheerful will come soon! haha
Happy Boxing Day!

It takes one to tell one
Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been sick and buzy for the past few days. It started from last Monday. My attempt to make a strawberry shortcake failed very epicly.

the cake did not raise properly

so I transform them into this
When I was washing up all the baking utensils, my shoulder and leg felt funny. Its like there's this thread/string/nerve? connecting the shoulder and leg and that string was being pulled very intensely. Felt dizzy and almost collapsed. With all my strength I ran up to the nearest room to get some rest. I was breathing very rapidly. I think my brain was probably effected as well? Haha it didn't cross my mind to just lie down at the sofa which was so much nearer compared to the room.
Down with fever that night. Then sore throat the next few days. And then cough, followed by a complete voice loss. Thank God my family was able to sort of understand what I was trying to 'say'. My sister was like "this is the time you should speak in Kansai ben"(Kansai ben is somehow very easy to understand even though you don't speak the language) And then Monday, I had food poisoning. Like seriously? One year worth of sickness took place in one whole week.
I'm much better now, just a little cough and sore throat. So don't worry~~ hee

I'm 20 so what?
Regarding the question I ask earlier.
There is this shop name called XZQT. What do u think that shop sells?
When I first saw XZQT, my brain automatically broke it down to
X = ex
Z = zee
Q = que
T = tee
then, brain joins everything together and registers the word 'Executive'. So naturally, I thought its a boutique selling office wear. But no, apparently its a furniture shop. So not in the name!
Something that I realize lately. When your 90 and you complain about your aching leg or something, most people will take u very seriously. But if your 20, people will think that you're faking it or its actually just some cramp or anything. Hate it when someone doubted me when they found out that I'm going to see an orthopedic. Seriously, when your 90, your blood circulation slows down and naturally you'll feel aches here and there. Isn't it a problem if you're going through does when you're 20? "never mind wan la..." Who are you to say that.

Why oh Why
I went to bed really early yesterday but instead of feeling really refreshed this morning, I couldn't get out of bed at all! It felt like I ran in a full marathon while I was sleeping. I must have ran with Ryo kun as he was the first person that crossed my mind when I opened my eyes.
I woke up at 8am, but I couldn't move at all. My back hurts, my arm aches, sharp pain behind my ear and both leg cramps.I need to see a general practitioner! These cramps has been attacking me since I was a kid!
It was until 9am that I finally gathered enough strength to get up. Walking down the stairs was horrible. It felt like I was gonna fall anytime. And now (7:51PM), I still feel like shit. And I think I'm gonna catch a fever soon. Ahh. Why am I so weak?
Could it be the weather? It rained a lot this morning. Chinese believes in rheumatism a lot though its longer used in medcine.. hmm if it's really because of the cold weather, I don't think a winter trip is a good idea. Sigh.
On a different note, I bought this pair ofTimberland inspired boots yesterday. Guess how much was it? Only RM30!
Haha knitted wear, CHECKED! Boots, CHECKED! All I need to do now is renew my passport and an air ticket! Fingers crossed!

Would appreciate it very much if...
No, no.. I did not forget that I own a blog make it two blogs. Its just that nothing worth mentioning happened lately. In a way I should be thankful eh? That nothing very bad has happened on me.
Anyway.. I know you guys are so sick of seeing Koichi's email to me whenever you visit my blog, so I have to update something la.
Like the title said.. I'll appreciate it very much if

People stop sending me scam messages. Hello? If u really need money that badly, the first thing you should do is stop texting people about them winning the lotto or something. I bet you'll be able to save a lot of money from there. I receive two of those scam messages last week. Geez..

Sushi Zanmai maintains their standard. A couple of days ago, I had one of the best meals ever at Sushi Zanmai. It's been long since I had really good Tamago Mentai sushi! Sometimes they serve really little mentai on the sushi. But my last visit was really good. It would be great if the amount of mentai given everytime I visit is as much as what is shown on that photo.

Last Saturday, I had to attend a compulsory lecture in my university. The cafeteria is not open so I had to walk out to one of the restaurant nearby for lunch. I ordered green tea and guess what came? Green tea with sugar. I was really shock when I took the first sip and my face changed immediately. I don't even add sugar into black tea, so sugared green tea is very very weird to my taste buds. Its true that some people do add sugar into green tea, but for me, No No No! It tastes more like syrup, seriously.

Somemone help me eat this please? I made these marshmallow cause the initial plan was my friends coming over for a couple of rounds of Trivia Pursuit (Wii game). But the plan did not went on. So now I have lots of marshmallow inside the refrigerator.

Give me a break.I am tired.
Why is mid semester break so far away?

I think, therefore I am
No, this entry is not about René Descartes, the Mathematician who hunted me with the Cartesian Plane back then in school aka the French philosopher who appeared in first year psychology with his rationalism. And I thought I could get rid of him after getting rid of Mathematics.
Anyway..don't you think this dried plum looks like the brain? You can see the left and right hemisphere and the muscle/vein/grey/white matter looking thing?
I've asked several people and none thought that it resembles the brain. I receive answers like "Looks more like a chocolate", "Your logic is funny", "I don't understand your logic"
Logic is something really funny don't you think so? Your reasoning senses tells you that it's not right to do that, and yet you still go ahead and do it. Sigh, I've spent my entire weekend reading Tony Parson's "Man and Boy" instead of revising my public relation notes. Oh, the guilt felt the moment I flip through the readings! It was bad, I couldn't sleep.
Talking about the brain. I think there is this tiny man inside my brain, erasing tiny bits of memory stored inside. Keshigomu kun, please don't work so hard. Or at least don't erase off all the Habermas and Grunigs theory that I'm gonna need next week.

Yesterday was...
Yesterday was the last day of the semester. I'm not sure how I did this semester. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to maintain my distinction streak for my Journalism subjects. It seems that my lecturer dint really like my style..AHHH
Exams coming right up soon! And after exams, I'll give The Rene Report a face lift and starts planing for some upcoming project! So please look forward to it. =)
Yesterday was alsoossan Azusa's birthday!

Of all the Japanese I meet, she's the most approachable one. It's very easy to talk to her. Maybe its because we're always singing the same tune? I think it's because we usually speaks in English haha.
Anyway, I know I'm annoying and yet you played along with my boke-ness, especially my "boku wa ii ko" gag and me suddenly singing Kamen Butoukai. Hope that you had fun in Malaysia and have a great time in Aussie ya? Am anticipating for November/December to come. Fingers and toes crossed for my Kansai trip this Winter!
Yesterday was also my parent's Silver Jubilee wedding anniversary. Unlike any other years, we had a simple Korean meal this time. Every time I eat Korean food, I can't help but wonder. Japan and Korea are neighbors, why is their food so distinct from each other. Korean cuisine are heavier and stronger in taste while the Japanese have a lighter flavor.
Inspired by the Domoto Bros' Korean trip, I pick a menu that resembles the food they ate in Korea last spring. Besides barbecue, we had this spicy squid thing which was really good and sam gye tang (Ginseng chicken soup)

Hmm..I wonder what is that white thingy on the bowl
Yesterday was so tiring that I only woke up at 9:10am this morning. Jumped off the bed like some ninja master and realized that I really should revise for my upcoming PR paper. Sigh.

It's like Insomnia
So many questions have been playing in my mind lately. From "Whats after my degree? Masters? Work?" to the more trivial ones like "Whats for lunch tomorrow?" More or less, I think it has been affecting my sleep at night. I don't remember when was the last time I actually had an uninterrupted sleep. Things weren't that good after waking up too. A couple of days ago, I woke up, get out of bed, stood up ,suddenly slipped and had banged really hard against the side drawer.

My maid was amazed by the size of the bruise I've 'earned' from the fall haha. At least now I know that the side drawers were made of good quality wood that can withstand impact.
Whoever you are, thank you so much for inventing the tower fan. You've contributed so much in Rene's quest in combating the heat. I don't have a ceiling fan and I have a 'no switching on of air conditioner' policy. Without the tower fan, every morning when I wake up,I would look like I just came back from a marathon. I usually use only one tower fan but it's so crazily hot these days that I need double dose of wind.

My blanket doesn't match the bed sheets..I know
I am proud to say that the air con is no longer a necessity to me. *cross off air con from list* Step one of embracing the minimalist lifestyle, strike off unnecessary things! All I need is the tower fan and a cold shower before going to bed. See, it's not hard to give up something you're so used to.

Happy Belated Birthday, Dots! I'm really looking forward to what you have in store for fans this year. I don't have anything much to say whenever it comes to Tsuyoshi. He expresses himself so well that I'm out of words to write. Anyway, enjoy one of my favorite remake by him.
Originally sung by Mr. Children.
Yesterday, a janitor knock my leg with the floor polisher!!! My sister and I think that he did that on propose cause he was initially cleaning the other side and when we walk pass, he came over with the machine and bang me and he did not apologize. Seriously, whats your problem? My legs are really clean and I don't need extra polishing.
I did not look back and glare at him after the 'bang' cause if he did that on purpose, I wanna show him that 'Oh no, it didn't hit me'pride problem and I was too shock to say anything. It's like your waiting for the next train and some random guy just come and punch you.
Actually, it was really really painful. I couldn't walk and had to limp for a couple of minutes. I almost cried but had to hold back haha. I didn't dare to look at my leg cause I was expecting something bloody but thank God nothing serious happened, just a couple of peeled skin.
One more reason to not like Sunway Pyramid =(

Six degrees of Seperation
I have no idea why the radio is promoting the 'Six degrees of Seperation' concept right now, but it's a topic that is constantly playing in my mind. Especially this year...the world seems to be so small. Or maybe I was too ignorant to notice. In a nut shell, go out and take a look at the world? It's not that huge afterall? I have no idea what I'm trying to say.
Anyway, I'm currently on my 1 week long mid semester break! Yay! But I have assignments to be completed. Boo. And to make things worst, my modem busted and most of my findings were stored in Google. That's why I'm now in my school's library, saving all my notes. double boo. Actually, I'm playing Bejeweled Blitz hehe.
Everytime during assignments period, I'll get really easily distracted and I'm always full of ideas on what to blog while having a writer's block on my assignment.Am currently jotting down ideas for a couple of future entries And I've even decided to join the Standard Chartered KL Run which will be held on my 20th birthday. I'll be running with Estee and Kim so hopefully it won't be an impulse decision that I'll regret the next day.
I've been thinking about postmodernism as well. No idea whats wrong with me. Too much facebook I guess.
Why is my entry title always irrelevant to the content of the post?

Chirp Chirp
One problem that people who keeps fishes outside of their house have to worry about is bird problem. Birds will just fly past and grab a fish for lunch. But Mr. Birdie has a big appetite. So he went indoors and aim for a 30cm long koi. A little greedy eh? In the end, Mr. Birdie ended up...

Like that..
Ever since a child, we've been taught not to bite more than we can chew. But ironically, educational institutes are taking big bites. I understand that you wanna give more people the chance for education. But you have to understand that you have very limited facilities. We have parking problems everyday and the new car park will only be completed in 2 years time?? A quick solution please. Not something like "We're trying to upgrade things right now"
If Google can say no to China, why can't you? Remember what Mr. Birdie taught us.

We have parking problems everyday and the new car park will only be completed in 2 years time?? A quick solution please. Not something like "We're trying to upgrade things right now"
If Google can say no to China, why can't you? Remember what Mr. Birdie taught us.

Sobfest
Not mine but the Qing Ming festival (Mourning festival) is around the corner, the sky is always feeling so blue, as if its mourning the lost of someone important. It reminded me of this poem that I was forced to memorize back then in primary school.
清明時節雨紛紛 (Drizzling rain falls like tears on the Mourning Day)
路上行人欲斷魂 (The mourner's heart is breaking on his way.)
借問酒家何處有 (Where can a winehouse be found to drown his sadness?)
牧童遙指杏花村 (A cowherd points to Almond Flower (Xing Hua) Village in the distance.)
Anyway, this entry is not about the festival. I'll blog about it again next time after I've done my mourning. It's about how my stroll in the park ended up with me running and chasing after my dad's car.
It started with me asking my sister to go out for a walk/jog. I wore my Converse sneakers cause I wanna 'vintage-fied' it.
After only a round of walking, I had this feeling that it will rain anytime soon. "Let's go back" I told my sister and on the way back, it started raining. Not drizzling but not pouring. Mild rain.
Ran home, reached home and my parents were about to make a trip to the night market. The night market is just a couple of roads away but the sky there was fine. And when my sister and I was happily choosing our breakfast for tomorrow, BAM! it started raining so heavily as if we're at the Niagara falls.
Mum: Let's wait for Pa around the shop lots. Let's wait in front of the 1st shop so he don't need to drive in.
*Dad's car drove pass*
I have no idea why did I volunteered to run and chase after my dad's car. I think one of the bystander laughed at me. Why does it always rain on me, is it because I lied when I was seventeen? My poor Converse.. So much for wanting to vintage-fied it. =(

Ouch ouch
When I was a kid, I fall, trip, bang, hit, injured myself so much that my mum was so worried that there might be some loose screw in my brain. These injuries are so unexpected, not as dramatic as those you see on 'One Fine Day' but they're just so silly and could have been prevented.
And now, not even inhaled 20 years worth of oxygen, I'm feeling all these pain coming back to me. Almost every morning, I wake up in pain. It's always the leg or the back. Ok, maybe that's due to bad posture but can you imagine how I would be like when I'm 60? I'll probably have rheumatism as my bff. No!! I don't want that to happen. =(
On a very very different note, I'll be attending some Free Talk session organized by the language center I took my Japanese lesson from. There will be some Japanese exchange students and second home families etc. I'm actually quite worried and nervous about it. Should I speak in a casual or a formal way? What if I said something stupid?bad PR What if I ran out of things to ask? Anyway, I'm preparing a set of questions so if you guys have anything to ask, feel free to drop a comment and I'll add it into the list. Hopefully I get to interview some of them and write something out of it.
