Na Na Na

It didn't cross my mind that its the Coming of Age day in Japan today until I went to Google Japan to Google something.

Coming of Age Day (成人の日, Seijin no Hi) is a Japanese holiday held annually on the second Monday of January. It is held in order to congratulate and encourage all those who have reached the age of majority (20 years old) over the past year, and to help them realize that they have become adults. Festivities include the coming of age ceremonies (成人式, seijin-shiki) held at local and prefectural offices, as well as after-parties amongst family and friends.
(source: Wiki)

And this year, guess who is joining the big boys? Yabu, Tamamori (Kismai) and Takaki! Welcome to the adults world. That's a lot of responsibility, but I'm sure u guys can do it. Hee mine will be next year!

On a happier note.. I've received my Corby invitation heeee

Koichi, happy birthday! Please drink more water.. cause your skin looks really dry when they shoot a close up of u. Use face mask, it's really good. And I'm still not convinced that ur hair is real.

And I made a time lapse video in conjunction of Koichi's birthday

A very last minute video.. so pleaseeeee excuse the lousy work. My timing was really bad and tripod wasn't exactly helpful.

and happy new year to all! May 2010 be a blasting and better year for you. =)

Aye aye aye..

Aye Aye I... I'm your little butterfly.. Green, black and blue make the color in the sky
Aye Aye Aye.. Where's my Samurai?

Lately, I've been watching and reading some Samurai related text and that song *points above* I'm sure guys know that song came to my mind yesterday. So I decided to write about the Samurai for today's entry.

A couple of days ago, I was watching "Takizawa Enbujo" which is Takki's Samurai Musical. When he appeared, I thought "Woah.. Takki as a Samurai is really convincing." It then stuck me that I've never seen a Samurai, how do I know Takki looks/behaves like a Samurai? His sharp fierce eyes? Neatly shaped eyebrows? Squarish jaw? The way he speaks? His gesture?

You see.. these characteristics listed above are my impression of a Samurai which is obviously mediated. In films, Samurai always appear to look very fierce and speaks in a low tone and it made us think that all Samurai are like that. What we see is what the media whats us to see and not necessarily 100% accurate. I'm not saying what they're showing is wrong. .I'm just wondering about it. My apologies if you find entries as such boring. It's just that I usually spend my time wondering about things like that although I look like I don't use my brain a lot.

Anywayyy.. so how does your mediated Samurai looks like? Here's my top 3 favorite samurai actors.

1. Takizawa Hideaki
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Although Takki has a little Western feature his nose? eyes?, I think he still can play as a Samurai. I guess it's because he have this what the Chinese call "General(將軍) Face" General as in Military's Generalissimo not the common general.

At 2nd place would of course be Domoto Koichi.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
He somehow reminded me of Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin. Besides, his skills in swinging the blades in Sushi Oji and SHOCK is one of the factors too.and the eyes! He was also ranked 2nd in a poll "Which actor would you like to see play the role of a samurai warlord of the Sengoku period (1467/1493-1573)?" Sorry that I couldn't find a better samurai picture of Ko chan.

If you're wondering who was rank first in that poll.. It was MatsuJun. But I prefer to see Jun looking glamor in his bling. Actually I think he looks more like an emperor

At 3rd place, Miura Haruma who is currently starring in the drama "Samurai High School"
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Honestly, when I first watch Samurai High School, I was like "YERRR what kind of show is this. So lame one." Thank God I did not stop watching it. It gets better episode by episode and Miura proved that whether a thug, hacker, guy who make his girlfriend pregnant, detective or a student, he can carry his role well. And now he can add Samurai into his archive.

Also , I've never seen him as a Samurai before.. but I think he have the eyebrows of a Samurai. Very oriental eyes, Kamenashi Kazuya. No need picture la ya.. Lazy to Google.

And of course that guy who played as a blind samurai 3 years ago

Who? Figure out yourself!

The Perfect Girl Evolution

Back then in 2006, there was this anime entitled "Yamato Nadeshiki Shichi Henge" ( The Perfect Girl Evolution) which I enjoyed a lot. second after Ouran I was hoping for a drama adaptation and guess what? It's happening next Winter!

My ideal cast
Sunako: No one yet
Kyohei: Yamashita Tomohisa
Takenaga: Nishikido Ryo
Ranmaru: Kamenashi Kazuya
Yukinojo: Koike Teppei

Winter 2010's cast
Sunako: Omosa Aya (Pi's sister in Buzzer Beat, also the messy hair girl in Mei chan no Shitsuji)
Kyohei: Kamenashi Kazuya
Takenaga: Uchi Hiroki
Ranmaru: Miyao Shuntaro Don't know who
Yukinojo: Tegoshi Yuya

Hmm.. I'm very happy with Kame as Kyohei and Tego as Yuki. Tego really really suits this role! My favorite character is actually Mori Ranmaru I like his name. Thats why I was kinda shock when I saw a name that I'm not familiar with playing that role. But it's still to early to judge. As for Uchi.. not really a fan of him.

#deadfisheyes

If you're on twitter.. you'll probably notice that #deadfisheyes is was a trending topic today for quite some time.
Here's a print screen of it if you missed it
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

What are #deadfisheyes you wonder? It's actually Yamapi's eyes haha. It's very very obvious in his younger pictures. Not still got la..but not so fisheyy. His fans are inspired by the trending topics created by Kpop fans and decided to make one for him too. I contributed too! haha Too bad it didn't reach the peak of the trending topics.. It's just too hard to beat New Moon. But no worries! His single made it into the first spot of the daily Oricon chart.

And..it was announced that there will be a Code Blue season 2 next Winter! Awesome possum.

So boring la these few days. Nothing much going on. Just catching up with some videos, study Japanese and thats all.

Loveless

Excuse me for the fan girl moment! But it's November already!! The month when my Number 1 is gonna release his 2nd solo single. *points at the calender which had November 18th circled* I'm so excited! It's been so long!! Looks like I can put Daite Senorita aside and start playing Loveless! and his Mola routine's really nice! I wanna learn!

Wonder of the day..
Yesterday, I called Clair and asked her something
C: Clair R: Rene

R: Why is Honggi's voice so powerful? I mean how he train huh?
C: I heard from my cousin la that he used to sing in a choir
R: I used to sing in a choir also what. 4 years somemore. But why no power at all? Not even 1/10 of him.
C: How come your voice like that huh?
R: Got 2nd place in some Choir competition you know

Haha yeahh makes me wonder what did I learn from 4 years of Choir. I remember my choir teacher said that I have very good expression. So all along I've only been working on the expression? Sigh..I really wish that my singing voice is a little bit bit more powerful and higher..Don't have to be like the Wonder Girls, BoA or even Mariah Carey..just a lil bit stronger. I don't wanna sound like a cat.

Something's gonna happen tomorrow 2PM KST. It's time to face reality... I'm not asking for a good news.I'm just hoping for something positive, please.

Again & Again.. I hate you

Happy birthday to Toma :)

It's week 11 of the semester already! 2 weeks more to go and then final exam. Haha I realize that I don't really blog about my uni life huh? My favorite place of Monash got to be the Journalism Lab cause of the Macs there. And thanks to it, I have a chance to learn how to use a Mac! And people are asking for help from me when they don't know how to operate a Mac proud Besides that, I also like this open area with tables and chairs situated behind the book shop. I'm not sure what is it called..but I usually refer to it as Sandwich Bar cause it looks like a good place to eat sandwich. I usually hangs out with Emily, who shares the same birthday as me!! and Jessica who coincidentally enrolled in the same classes as me in every classes~ I can't wait for my semester break and we'll go for a trip.. Baggan Lalang! heee

I'm so sleepy *yawns*. Oh ya~~ the Samantha Thavasa bags that I ordered finally arrived! heee I'm happy happy and finally I can sleep in peace without worrying about it

TGIF

Firstly, I would like to wish a Selamat Hari Raya to every Muslims out there! I'll be visiting some of my Malay relatives tomorrow! Can't wait for the rendang, lemang, cookies and moreeeee

Met up with Clair this morning and off we went to Neway for our karaoke session. It's very nice of Neway to give us an extra hour of karaoke. I was so happy that they actually had KinKi Kids' Secret Code. I loveeeeee that song and the PV very muchie. Heee. A little trivia about Karaoke. Do you know that Karaoke actually means empty orchestra in Japanese? Kara means empty while oke stands for orchestra (okesutora) . I guess Asian Music lectures are quite useful afterall eh?

Walk around 1utama, Clair bought tixs for Arthurs Day and baby gifts and went phone checking. We stop by Gelatissimo after that. And took this picture. Do you know by taking a picture from an UP angle, it will make the subject looks weaker/sad/helpless. Conversely, it will make the subject looks proud/arrogant if it was taken from a DOWN angle. Clair got the right angle this time! and my eyes looks really horrible.

Talking about photography, maybe I should pick it up again during the long holidays. Last time, a boy from my Japanese class said that I look like a photography person cause they way I describe and look at things seems different. It made me happy..but the truth is, I'm not that deep. Besides,I'm very very bad in taking pictures of human! I just can't get the right angle and estimate how much head room and nose room is neccesary. And one day later, If I'm really into photography, I would like to own this

don't you think it looks so gorgeous?

But for now, I want an iTouch.. or a miracle for my iPod :(

Ohh and lastly, anyone visiting the States anytime soon? Please get me a pack of dried mangoes! Thankiewww

Fashion Terrorist #1

Inspired by Okcat, who openly admits he's a fashion terror, I decided to start a collumn(?) on clothes that I like and clothes that I bought but don't dare to wear out. In another words, impulse buying and lalaism.

Anyway, I've always like the preppy look, but sadly, does not belong to the preps. Inspired by the Johnny boys such as Nakamaru Yuichi and Okamoto Keito who looks really good in preppy costume, I decided to try the prep look too! No harm trying right?

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
That's my favorite Argyle sweater from Shopaholics Unite, and did I mention that Argyle patterns are LOVE! Kim likes that pattern too! I wanna get more argyle patterned clothes but it's not cheap. Whenver I see argyle patterns, I'll call it Nakamaru pattern to pay homemage to him. Inside, I wore a sleeveless purple Ralph Lauren polo top bought from Bangkok I think. Addidas tennis skirt from the morning market why do I buy so many fake goods? and socks from socks world

I wore that to 1u yesterday minus the socks la. cause it was too tight. All I need is a pair of fake nerdy glasses.

Anywayyyy Happy birthday to my favorite beat boxer, Nakamaru Yuichi! Yes, I honestly think that you have a nice voice and you suits the prep look more than anyone else and also it's not wrong having a big nose

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

And also to 2pm! I don't really follow their music.. but their reality show is really good! Go check it out when you're free..it's called Wild Bunny by the way.

Gotta run now.. so I'll blog more later at night~

Blame the swines?

So I was browsing some random forums..and came across the news about Yamashita Tomohisa (Pi) and Nishikido Ryo (Ryo) is reported to be down with Influenza A. However, It's not confirm yet but it is possible that they might have the H1N1 strand in them.

Thank goodness it is not possible to spread via television. If not so many people will be getting it. Including me who is watching borth their dramas currently. *touch wood*

Anyway..this flu is not something to be taken lightly. How many people are REALLY aware of this virus. Most of our knowledge about it stops at "The swines caused it". It's not until today that I realize that H1N1 is actually NOT Influenza A but a subtype of flu of it.

But before poiting fingers to the pigs, what have we done to prevent it? How many people actually wears the mask to public places? When you're down with flu/fever.. Whats the first thing you'll think of? "Aiyah.. it won't be H1n1 la.. I'll recover soon, just give me a couple of days."

Me! Haha I don't wear mask when I'm out.. and when I'm down with fever, I rule out the H1N1 possibility. I bought hand sanitizer but hardly use it cause I hate that gel-like texture thing on my hand. I do wash my hands very often..but is it really clean?? You know.. I actually drink Yakult everyday cause I think it can help prevent the flu. Hahaha

I'm sure there are lots of 'me' out there too. It's time to make unconvenient as a habit. Go get your mask and hand sanitizers!

Make sure you have extra masks with you.. Cause if your mask is wet (from all the sweating or breath or maybe saliva), it is easier for the bacteria to come to you. The bacs love moisture!
